  JW Expanded Volunteer Activities?

  i think the gb needs to expand publishers' volunteer activities beyond door knocking.. gb has shifted away from door-knocking to more varied forms of witnessing and no longer counting time for publishers.

  my prediction is that the gb will start encouraging jws to participate in broader community volunteer efforts: clean-up drives, food banks, senior citizen support, and other non-proselytizing activities.

  this move could help them gain goodwill with government agencies and the public.. expanding volunteer activities could significantly shift how jws are perceived by the wider community.

  They have to maintain this "us vs them" mentality.

  Opening up food pantry's and soup kitchens defeats that theology.

  I dont think that would ever work.

  Thoughts on Likely Upcoming Changes in the Org.

  i am thinking that the "ten year plan" that some have spoken of is the most likely scenario.

  the org.

  has to both attract new members and retain as many existing ones as possible.. so i think they will let the recent changes "bed in" for a while, maybe a year ?

  The best way to boil a frog.

  Is to put it in a pot and raise the water temperature from ambient,,, to boiling.

  Same with Borg changes.

  Imposing ""new light" slow but sure. Calculated.

  Who would have thought in 1995.??? When the "generation" change they would be on their behinds watching governing bodys on videos with beards? On their home computer?

  No more printed publications at meetings?

  The list could go on in the last 25years. Changes.

  The Borg has to sustain its ""us vs. them" mentality

  It has craftily maintained the mindset of such & has to continue to do so.

  The concept that their God will "soon" wipe out every non believing JW of the 8billion on this earth.

  Expanding any kind of volunteer service with non believing will undermine & dilute the Borgs theology.

  because of some respect for family members, we visited the memorial today.. a moment i always think, could i go back into this religion?

  we entered the hall and some said a short hello.

  and with short i say short.

  There just has to be a lot of mixed feelings and resentfulness.

  Probably the hardcore,, old school JWs.

  Some of the Borgs primary doctrines got trashed. Probably more to come too.

  Im with you.

  10$ that the Borg is at risk of a serious cash flow problem.

  Great teacher;

  I know in years passed,,, when memorial fell on Sunday. I remember.

  The Borg made no exception and had the congregations attend their 45 minute talk at the time and WT study.

  Making the people lumber back and forth to the kh with no consideration about work or school the next day.

  Another thing is the 2 witnesses rule.

  Impossible for that to go away. They follow it through and through all the way up. They cant",, and will ""NEHHVer change "" this one. Impossible.

  1914 is the cornerstone to the JW Borg theology..

  Without that,,Christ could not have came down and,,inspected all the religions and chosen the International Bible Students Association as Gods channel in 1919.

  You hear these governing bodys doubling down on 607BCE as the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon as it lines up with their ideology.

  let's be honest, there's a stigma to the name jehovah's witness.

  ....actually it was the Rutherford era,,, Knorr then via the Fraz era when they really began doubling down and putting the screws to its members.
